The
interstitial fic is Recovery by Ten. The show
leaps right from Mulder's medical crucifiction
in Amor Fati to his return to field agent status
in Hungry with only his weed wacked hair cut the
only clue to his brain surgery. Recovery shows
the steps along the way. Just how did Scully get
Mulder out of the ersatz DoD 'hospital?' What
did his recovery entail? How did they cope? Recovery
fills in this time period with a well written
consistent explanation.
Craving
more of Scully's pregnancy, the why's and wherefores?
These well written stories get a standing OVAtion
from me:
After
Mulder's assertion in the Season 4 episode Home,
that the Mulder's pass genetic muster, Mulder
and Scully discuss genes, genetics and.... This
is more discussion then we see in Per Manum. Certainly
such a serious topic deserves serious consideration.
This story does it.

What
did Mulder think when Scully asked him to be the
father of her child? Surely he gave it some serious
thought. All but one of these vignettes listed
below cover this territory. They are all at Gossamer.
An
amazing sweet, light treatment of Mulder's attempt
at sperm donation. Scully rises to the occasion
and so eventually does Mulder. Bet the Bureau
never envisioned their cell phones being used
like this!

Great
Mulder!Think. At least the Mulder I would like
to think exists- you know, the one who cares deeply
about Scully. The intelligent, ironic word play
we've come to expect from Mulder. The thoughtful
consideration we didn't see in Per Manum. A serious
Mulder and a careful Scully do a tentative tip
toe around the topic.

An
emergency cell phone intervention to facilitate
procreation. Whew! Bet Scully could say that in
one breath! Uses takeoffs on dialog we have heard
these characters say but in a different context.

Mulder
profiles his partner. How did she decide to ask
Mulder? Strong believable dialog. What we haven't
seen on the show is this sort of frank exchange.
It could happen-but it's been left to fanfic authors
like Ms. Ocks who do it so much better than CC
ever has. The ova are offstage for this scene,
but central to this discussion. The dialog is
bang on. I can just hear Mulder saying these phrases,
working to convince Scully that she will find
a way.

Scully's
turn. What was Scully thinking? Despite her faith,
it 's Mulder who believes in miracles. This story
expands on Mulder's line 'never give up on a miracle'
in Per Manum.
